Node-RED is a programming tool. For example, it can be used to connect hardware devices, databases, online APIs, and many other services. Node-RED provides a web browser-based editor that makes it easy to link data streams through a wide range of nodes in the toolbox. This community platform is built on an interpreted programming language that allows this tool to run on any Linux / Windows device.

Working in the tool combines the use of shared libraries that have a uniform interface. In terms of programming style, it is a tool for partial graphical programming combined with blocks of code written in the javascript programming language.

The aim of the course is to introduce the possibilities offered by Node-RED. We have a lot of experience using this tool in various projects. For example, we use this tool to control an “intelligent house” (lighting, heating, irrigation, sockets, etc.). We will be happy to give you part of our know-how. Although it has been outlined in the introduction that this is a programming tool, it does not mean that the course is for experienced programmers only. Node-RED is a suitable tool even for a completely beginning programmer, who will help in a non-violent form, through individual steps to penetrate into the world of ones and zeros.
